Apart from the Galaxy Note 8 phablet, the company also seems to be working on another mid-range Android-based smartphone and last year’s successor, the Galaxy C7 (2017).The upcoming device will compete with OnePlus 5. Recently the smartphone appeared on benchmarking website, GeekBench. The listing posted on the website pretty much revealed all the major specifications set to arrive in Galaxy C7 (2017). Samsung is also releasing the Note 8 phablet on 23 August.

A mid-segment device

According to the information on the GeekBench listing, the smartphone is going to be powered by MediaTek’s latest P20 system-on-chip, with clocking speeds of 1.69GHz and offer 3GB of RAM along with 32GB of internal storage.

The device is further expected to run on the latest Android 7.1.1 Nougat operating system, according to a report published by The Android Soul. This comes across as a disappointment, as Google is rumored to introduce its Android O (2017) software operating system soon. Therefore, it would be expected for the South-Korean technology giant’s future smartphones to come tagged with the latest software operating system as well.

The upcoming smartphone has achieved a score of 865 on the single-core test and 3,621 on a multi-core test. This reveals the performance capabilities of the smartphone, on the basis of which it can be assumed that the smartphone will be decent for a mid-range offering.

As pointed by Android Headlines, the Galaxy C7 (2017) has shown up online before.

The device passed through TENAA recently and has also achieved the Bluetooth SIG and Wi-Fi Alliance certification. On the listing published on the official TENAA website, the Android-powered smartphone was mentioned to feature a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED display with a pixel resolution of 1080. On the storage front, the device was mentioned to carry 4GB of RAM along with 64GB of internal storage as well.

Powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 600

At that time the device was reported to be carrying the Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor, clocked at 2.39GHz. As far as the camera specifications of the smartphone are concerned, the device was reported to be carrying a 13-megapixel rear shooter along with a 5-megapixel front camera as well.

The device was powered by a 2,850mAh battery with Quick Charge technology support. It is safe to assume that Samsung will be introducing two variants of its Galaxy C7 (2017) smartphone. The launch-date of the device hasn’t been specified by the company yet. Stay tuned for more updates.
