Not too long ago, the Galaxy C7 (2017) passed through the WiFi Alliance process and the certification stage of Bluetooth SIG and smartphone enthusiasts have already started hazarding all sorts of speculations regarding the looming handset.

What to expect?

Renowned Chinese leaker and a self-proclaimed Samsung fan with Twitter handle @mmddj_china recently revealed that the 2017 iteration of the Galaxy C7 from Samsung will sport a rear-mounted dual camera setup.

If this comes to fruition, the C7 could outmaneuver the hotly anticipated Galaxy Note 8, becoming the company's first ever smartphone to feature two cameras on the back, provided it hits the store shelves before the Galaxy Note 8 as well as Galaxy C10, since both are said to come equipped with two cameras on the back as well.

A report from AndroidHeadlines cites unnamed sources that claim Samsung is already testing the Galaxy C7 (2017) ahead of its impending launch. The new Galaxy C series smartphone will be the South Korean handset maker's second-gen ‘Galaxy C7’ branded smartphone, since it released the original model in May 2016.

Specifications and features

The report alludes to the upcoming Galaxy C7 as a mid-range smartphone, just like its precursor. Moreover, it will be housed in a metal frame. Under the hood, it will pack Qualcomm’s mid-range processors, meaning, it might draw power either from the Snapdragon 653, 652 or the 650. Samsung might also decide to retain the SD 625 processor, which powered the earlier C7.

Furthermore, the upcoming Galaxy smartphone might pack 4GB of RAM coupled with 32GB of 64GB of internal storage, and there's a possibility that the device might not oust the standard home key, which reportedly will also act as a fingerprint scanner.

Samsung will outfit the device with one capacitive key located on each of the two sides of the physical home key, and the C7 (2017) will sport a 5.7-inch fullHD Super AMOLED display with 1920 x 1080p resolution like its predecessor.

There's still no word regarding the camera sensors the phone will ship with; however, the report claims we might see a 16MP rear-mounter camera and an 8MP shooter front shooter for the selfie addicts. The new version of the Galaxy C7 will be backed by a robust battery, most likely larger than 3,000mAh. The smartphone will come with Android Nougat out of the box with Samsung's custom UI running on top. While the popular handset maker has neither confirmed nor debunked these reports, more shreds of information about the device are expected to surface online sooner rather than later.
