Meizu doesn’t seem to be done with smartphone launches this year, as another leak possibly revealing a key specification of the company’s upcoming smartphone has just emerged online. The reports suggest that the latest leak is regarding Meizu’s speculated X2 smartphone, and it reveals that the device will come equipped with a circular-looking secondary Display located on the backside of the smartphone. Interestingly, Meizu is expected to introduce its flagship smartphones Meizu Pro 7 and PRO 7 Plus sometime next week and it is sort of uncanny for these speculations to emerge online just a week ahead of the launch.

Design plus other details

The leak of the alleged Meizu X2 smartphone has led many to believe that the former will be quite identical to Meizu’s PRO 7 and PRO 7 Plus smartphones especially because even they may come packed with a secondary display on the back. However, the major difference between the two will be the rectangular shaped display that will be placed atop the Meizu PRO 7 and PRO 7 Plus smartphones, and the circular-designed display that are set to arrive in the Z2 device. Since Meizu seems to have decided to adopt the circular display, the company is believed to follow LG’s display as even the latter adopted the ‘Quick Circle’ case in its previously-launched LG G3 smartphone. The leak further goes on to reveal that the X2 smartphone’s secondary display will be able to showcase the charging icon, a clock and even a few animations.

The credibility of the source cannot be affirmed as of yet, and confirmation from the side of Meizu is certainly awaited.

Specs and features

Apart from this, the latest leak also reveals that the upcoming Meizu X2’s rear side will be built using glass, topped with a glossy finish and a single-rear camera setup accompanied with LED flash.

The smartphone also sports a USB Type-C port on the bottom end of the device. Previous leaks have suggested that the smartphone might be powered by MediaTek’s Helio processor, which may either be Helio P20 or Helio P25. No other information apart from this has been revealed through the leaks as yet, but reports suggest that the company might end up launching this device towards the end of this year.

Unlike Meizu PRO 7 and PRO 7 Plus, the X2 smartphone will fall under the mid-budget category, as far as the pricing range is concerned. The company, however, has not revealed any details regarding the price.
