Apple Inc. is expected to launch the much talked about iPhone 8 next month. The smartphone is expected to arrive with a facial recognition feature. Nonetheless, the handset’s alleged image of its 3D sensing camera has managed to make its way onto the internet.
KGI Securities analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo, revealed back in February that the upcoming smartphone’s front-facing 3D sensing camera will be revolutionary. Just yesterday, the analyst made it known that the 3D sensing technology on the iPhone 8 would be more advanced compared to Qualcomm. Kuo also stated that the semiconductor company’s technology won’t be available until 2019.
However, Slashleaks shared the alleged photo of the 3D sensing camera module. There’s no verification if the image is legit, but the photo’s sudden appearance shortly after the report of the KGI Securities analyst is certainly suspicious.
Even though the Cupertino based tech giant did not acknowledge the alleged photo of the 3D sensing camera for the upcoming handset, but the tech company is about to officially launch the iPhone 8. 9To5 Mac pointed out that as the mobile device’s volume production is underway, there’s a possibility that its components would surface online as it goes through the supply chain.
Meanwhile, the iPhone 8 might not hit the shelves with a curved edge OLED display. As reported by The Korea Herald, an unnamed source made it known that the 10th year anniversary iPhone will most likely be available with a flat screen.
If previous renders of the iPhone 8 are to be believed, the mobile device will be Apple’s very first smartphone to arrive with an OLED display as well as very minimal bezels. The tech giant might roll out the handset without the Touch ID fingerprint sensor.
Specs of the handset
Nevertheless, the iPhone 8 is expected to be available with a 5.8-inch 2.5D OLED edge-to-edge display with 1242 x 2800 pixel resolution.
The device will boast an all-glass design and measures 71x143x7.4mm. The handset will be powered by Apple A11 chip with iOS 11 operating system and an improved Siri. The smartphone will be equipped with a rear vertical dual camera, support for LTE speeds up to 450Mbps and an IP68 certification for dust and water resistance.
Release date and price
The tech company is expected to officially announce the iPhone 8 next month. The device is anticipated to cost $1,100 or $1,200. The smartphone will be available in two configurations - 128GB and 256GB.
