Apple has not revealed the iPhone 8 yet, but the hype and excitement surrounding the upcoming smartphone are much greater compared to the previous iPhone models. It is because the iPhone 8 will mark the tenth anniversary of the iPhone, and Apple supporters are expecting too much from it. There are new rumors, leaks, renders, and concept designs spreading online almost every week. Apple is expected to unveil the device in September, but the company has not confirmed the official date yet.

What should we expect?

According to a report from Forbes, the iPhone 8 will look stunning and it will perfectly fit in one hand.

The device is expected to have a larger display screen compared to the iPhone 7, but it will be slightly smaller than the iPhone 7 Plus. The smartphone will also include a facial recognition technology and an edge-to-edge screen.

The facial recognition sensors of the iPhone 8 will allow the users to unlock their smartphones using their faces. Tech critics say it is a more secure method compared to unlocking the smartphone using fingerprints sensors. The device will also sport a wireless charging technology. Apple will be launching three new smartphones this year, namely the iPhone 7S, iPhone 7S Plus, and the premium iPhone 8.

The iPhone 7S and iPhone 7S Plus are just modest updates of the previous model.

Apple is expected to launch the new smartphones right on schedule, but the company could have limited stocks. Because of the limited supply, reservation holders might have to wait until November before actually receiving the smartphone.

Pre-orders accepted by Telekom

According to BGR, pre-orders for the upcoming iPhone 8 are now available.

The German telecommunications company, Deutsche Telekom, allows buyers to reserve a spot in a queue to order devices that have not been released or even announced. People who want to secure a spot will get a reservation service ticket online. Once manufacturers like Apple, Huawei, Samsung, Google, etc. present their latest devices, buyers can redeem their tickets and exchange it for an actual reservation.

Buyers must be a Telekom subscriber to get the reservation tickets. Non-subscribers can directly go the Telekom’s official website and sign up. KGI Securities Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicts that Apple will only release 2 million to 4 million units of the iPhone 8 on the launch date. Making a reservation now would come in handy for those people who want to be the first to buy the tenth-anniversary smartphone.
