Apple is set to roll out its 10th-year-anniversary smartphone, the iPhone 8, on September 12. Aside from the iPhone 8, the Cupertino-based tech company is expected to announce other products.

Apple is planning to hold its launch event at the Steve Jobs Theater, MSN reported. However, as Apple’s new headquarters is not yet finished, the backup plan would probably be the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco.

The highly anticipated iPhone 8 will be the star of the event. The next-gen handset is expected to boast a 5.8-inch OLED edge-to-edge display with 1242 x 2800 pixel resolution.

The handset will arrive with an all-glass construction, and measures 71x143x7.4mm. The mobile device will be powered by Apple’s A11 chipset. The smartphone will be equipped with iOS 11, Siri personal assistant, rear-facing Touch ID sensor, P2P payments, face-scanning technology, vertical rear dual camera setup and a support for LTE speeds up to 450Mbps.

Price of the device

The handset will feature an IP68 certification for dust and water resistance. The mobile device will also arrive with a Wi-Fi 802.11, Bluetooth 4.2, front-mounted fingerprint sensor, accelerometer, gyro, barometer, and proximity. The smartphone is expected to have a $1,200 price tag.

Apple’s other products

Aside from the iPhone 8, Apple is expected to launch the new iPhone 7 and 7 Plus.

According to Mac Rumors, the tech company is also expected to announce its Apple Watch Series 3 and the new Apple TV. The company also has new software to announce, the iOS 11, watchOS 4, tvOS 11 and the macOS High Sierra.

However, the iPhone 7S and 7S Plus smartphones might arrive with a glass back panel. Other key modifications to these handsets might be the removal of the home button.

These smartphones could feature a power button-embedded fingerprint scanner. The mobile devices might also roll out with an IP68 certification, which will put these handsets at the same level as Samsung’s newly-announced Galaxy Note 8 phablet.

Wistron (Apple’s partner) made it known that the 7S variant would arrive with a wireless charging technology.

The 7S model will feature a 4.7-inch display, while the Plus variant might boast a 5.5-inch screen.

Considering Apple’s tradition, the pre-order of the new iPhones are expected to kick off on September 15. The mobile devices are expected to be available on the market on September 22.
