Microsoft rolled out the Windows 10 update last year. While the tech giant continues in its effort in enticing more tech enthusiasts to switch to its latest operating system, Microsoft is reportedly set to launch it's Windows 10 Redstone update. Reports also seem to indicate that the tech company plans to unleash the new OS update together with its long-awaited Surface Phone.
Deccan Chronicle claims that the Redmond, Washington-based tech titan has given up all hopes on its Windows-based mobile device. Nonetheless, that doesn't necessarily mean that the tech giant will abandon the handset.
The company is long rumored to be developing the highly anticipated Surface Phone, which seems to roll out anytime soon. Tech fans and experts are expecting the Surface Phone might come along with the latest Windows 10 Redstone update.
Surface Phone connects to other devices
The Surface Phone is expected to be equipped with Microsoft’s latest Windows 10 Continuum. Wherein, the upcoming Surface Phone will become possible to connect smoothly to other devices running the same technology. The tech giant is expected to announce the gadget and the technology mentioned above before 2017 ends.
Nevertheless, Microsoft was supposed to roll out the mobile device last year, but the release of the handset has been delayed due to technical problems.
As 2017 is expected to be a big year for big launches from other leading companies, such as Samsung and Apple, the Redmond, Washington-based tech company will not allow itself to be left behind, as the company seems to release the Windows-based smartphone before the year is over.
Meanwhile, some reports are claiming that Microsoft’s upcoming smartphone will be a foldable device.
This stemmed from the leaked patent of the tech giant, showing that the handset can be folded to a size of a smartphone and can be expanded into a tablet.
Upcoming device’s specs
Interestingly, the Surface Phone is expected to be powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor. This feature of the mobile device will spark a direct rivalry with a handset with the same chipset, such as Samsung Galaxy S8, Google Pixel 2 and Xiaomi Mi 6 among others.
Furthermore, Microsoft’s upcoming mobile device will reportedly come in two variants, dubbed as the Surface Slavonia and the Surface Peking. The upcoming smartphone is expected to have a Win32 app support, a built-in projector and a 5.5-inch AMOLED display with 1440 × 2560 pixel resolution.
