Owing to countless leaks and rumors one has an inkling of what the upcoming Galaxy S8 Active may look like and what it may pack under its hood. The latest leak reveals some of the most premium renders that the smartphone is rumored to ship with. Thanks to Android Police, one now gets a peek at high-quality images of the Galaxy S8 Active. The leaked renders appear to be straight from the pages of a company Training Manual.
Training manual reveals specs
According to the leaked training manual, the Galaxy S8 Active will ship with Android 7.0 Nougat pre-loaded in the system, which is a disappointment.
Given that the Android 7.1 Nougat software update was rolled out for the Nexus and Pixel devices at the end of 2016, people were hoping that the device would come with the same. The leaked pages of the training manual also revealed that the rugged handset will be powered by the Snapdragon 835 processor. The handset will sport a 5.8-inch Super AMOLED display screen with Gorilla Glass Corning 5.
The rugged smartphone
In terms of durability, which is the highlight of the handset, the smartphone will apparently come with IP68 water and dust resistant certification and also MIL-STD-810G, which is certification level meted out by the United States military. The device will also house a larger battery – 4,000 mAh – compared to the Galaxy S8.
Apart from that, the rugged Samsung handset is hinted to feature 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of native storage. The training manual reveals that the handset may sport a 12-megapixel primary camera and an 8-megapixel secondary selfie snapper.
Bixby button for the smartphone?
The leaked training manual confirms previous speculations and states that the handset will come with a dedicated Bixby button like the flagship model.
For the unfamiliar, Bixby is Samsung’s own AI. According to the user manual, Bixby, “Recommends, Sees, and Reminds.”
The Key features category for the Galaxy S8 Active in the leaked training manual reveals that the smartphone will be sporting a shatter resistant edge-to-edge Infinity Display. Previous rumors, on the other hand, speculated that the device would be featuring a flat screen instead of a curved Infinity Display.
Apart from that, the handset will be coming with wireless and fast charging abilities. However, the exact technology that would support the above-mentioned features has not been listed. In addition to these features, the handset will also come pre-loaded with apps such as Samsung Health and Samsung Pay.
