Samsung has been making a lot of headlines lately. After unveiling its Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus smartphones and taking the market by a pleasant surprise, the smartphone-manufacturer went on to target the mid-range category by introducing Galaxy A7 (2017), J7 and J7 Max smartphones. This article specifically talks about Samsung’s plans regarding its Galaxy A7 (2017) smartphone as of now. The device — which was announced in Samsung’s Home Market, South Korea back in January this year — is finally being made available for sale.

A premium-segment device

A completely revamped version of the initially-announced Galaxy A7 (2017) is going to be launched this time. The new variant comes with a front-facing fingerprint scanner, inbuilt digital assistant Bixby and two capacitive buttons on the sides. The smartphone is currently available for sale exclusively in South Korea. Interested buyers can purchase the device through SK Telecom. While the pre-orders for the same have already begun, the device will be made available for purchase by next week. Pre-order prices start at 588,500 won ($510).

Available in three colors with cutting-edge specs

The smartphone is made available in three different colors, Black Sky, Gold Sand and Peach Cloud.

As far as the specifications of the smartphone is concerned, the Galaxy A7 (2017) comes equipped with a 5.7-inch full-HD (1,920 x 1,080-pixel resolution) Super AMOLED display and is powered by Samsung’s very-own Exynos 7880 64-bit octa-core processor. The smartphone offers 3GB of RAM along with 32GB of internal storage. Users can also expand the internal storage up to 128GB via its microSD card-slot option.

Apart from this, the Galaxy A7 (2017) sports a 16MP rear camera along with a 16MP front snapper as well. However, the quality of the latter is slightly lower than the former.

The smartphone further houses a 3,600mAh battery and runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OS — which is quite a disappointment as the latest version has already arrived since a year now.

In fact, Google is now preparing to launch Android O in the next couple of months as well. Samsung is, therefore, expected to release the Nougat update as soon as possible for the Galaxy S7 (2017). There are also chances that Samsung might introduce the Android O directly as well. However, that is something that is not known as yet since Samsung hasn’t provided any official confirmation regarding the same. Apart from this, the device offers Samsung Pay (the company’s digital payment service), IP68 certification, dust resistance and a 3.5mm headphone hack.
