Nokia’s Lumia lineup of smartphones was officially scrapped off earlier last year. The fans almost thought that the Finnish-tech giant will retire from the smartphone market altogether. Much to the surprise of the most, the HMD Global-backed firm finally made it to the top again. This happened after the Company announced the revival of its classic Nokia 3310 feature phone at MWC, 2017 earlier this year. The firm also officially took the wraps off its Android-based smartphones namely, Nokia 3, 5 and 6. While the former two fall in the mid-budget category, Nokia 6 belongs to a slightly higher segment and has managed to gain most recognition.

Nokia first made its Nokia 6 device available for pre-orders on China’s JD.com. As reported by Pocket Lint, approximately 1.3 million pre-registrations for Nokia 6 were recorded in just 4 days. A question that rattles many is what exactly does the smartphone has to offer that fans are going haywire over it? Let’s find out. Design-wise, the Nokia 6 is armed with an anodized aluminum body that measures 154 x 75.8 x 7.85-8.4mm. The handset remains well-protected; thanks to the 2.5D sculpted Gorilla Glass that sits around it. The Nokia 6 has something in similar to the iPhone 7 and that is its antenna lines, that is located on the edge of the smartphone. The said smartphone further goes on to sport a 3.5mm headphone jack along with a MicroUSB card slot option.

The handset also features dual speakers backed by Dolby Atmos effect, which the company promises will deliver an amazing audio experience. With a 5.5-inch IPS LCD display, the smartphone seems perfect for users who love watching video content on their primary devices.

Nokia 6 specs and features

On the software front, the Nokia 6 is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 430 chipset.

Since the device is aimed towards the mid-range market — the processor is ideal. There’s 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage onboard, with added option of expanding the capacity. The smartphone sports a splendid 16MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, 1.0µm pixels, and PDAF along with an 8MP front snapper with f/2.0 aperture, 1.12µm pixels, and AF.

Thanks to the added compliments, the result of capturing an image is pretty decent. The smartphone obviously runs on the latest Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS that comes along with the latest features, allowing users to avail a first class Android experience. The device is expected to go on sale, starting July 7th on Amazon.
