There have been a lot of rumors regarding the impending Apple flagship device for 2017. The so called iPhone 8 will mark the tenth year anniversary for the smartphone series from the Cupertino-based company. iPhone enthusiasts are eagerly awaiting the impending handset’s reveal in September. If the rumors are true, then the mobile phone could be a iconic device from the company bearing state of the art technologies.

There have been a lot of speculations regarding the iPhone 8’s specs, features, display details, and Apple’s dilemma regarding the placement of the Touch ID sensor on the smartphone. However, very little information has surfaced regarding the color choices and variants in which Apple will be offering the device. Now, information regarding the hues on offer from the company has also been allegedly revealed.

Four color options for the iPhone 8

According to well known tipster, Benjamin Geskin, the upcoming iPhone handset will be available in four distinct hues. While Geskin did not reveal what each of the four colors will be, he revealed that one of the shades would be a brand new option for iPhones, which iFans have not seen previously.

This new option would be a mirror like reflective material. Currently, the iPhone 7 is available in six color options, including Jet Black, Black, Rose Gold, Gold, Red, and Silver. Geskin’s information suggests that Apple may be dropping three of these shades.

Other alleged features of the next-gen handset

Reports have almost confirmed that the iPhone 8 is coming with a 5.2-inch OLED display excluding the space of the screen reserved for the virtual home button. It will be the first iPhone to go almost bezel less thanks to its revolutionary design. Apart from this, a lot has been speculated regarding the biometric scanners which the device would include.

Till recently, it was being claimed that Apple had found a way to incorporate the Touch Id sensor under the OLED display panel itself.

However, more recent reports contradicted these claims and said that Apple had ditched the Touch ID sensor completely from the impending smartphone. Instead, the company was said to have invested in 3D facial recognition technology.

It was also suggested that Apple has developed the 3D sensing front camera which is able to perceive depth of an image as well and thus would be used for both the iris scanning functionality and the face scanning feature. It remains to be seen what the premium iPhone 8 will boast once it is unveiled in September.
