A lot of new details about Intel’s much rumored 8th generation Coffee Lake desktop processors, codenamed Coffee Lake S, have reportedly been leaked online. The information coming from multiple sources detail the clock speeds of the upcoming Intel chips.

According to WCCFTech, the leak has its source from a manifesto from Intel which lists three products based on the upcoming Coffee Lake architecture.

Notably, all the three CPUs in question are likely to get the first 6 core mainstream Intel processor. As compared to the current offerings, the next-gen processors are rumored to feature more cache, cores and threads.

All the Coffee Lake S models will reportedly feature the GT2 tier graphics chip from Intel. The Core i7-8700k is expected to be the fastest of the three offerings. The processor lineup is rumored to get launched in the third quarter of the year, sometime around August, most probably at Gamescom 2017.

Intel Core i78700K specifications

Talking about the flagship of the lineup, which is the Core i7 8700K, the processor will reportedly feature six cores and twelve threads clocked at a base frequency speed of 3.2 GHz and a minimum core frequency speed set at 0.8 GHz.

The Intel chip features a 4.3 GHz single core boost clock, 4.2 GHz dual core boost clock and a whopping 4.0 GHz rated quad and hexa core boost clocks. The CPU has a BCLK of 100 MHz frequency.

According to the “IA (Intel Architecture) Overclock Capable” panel, there’s an unlocked multiplier in the chip. The chip features dual channel memory with 2400 MHz of native speed. The processor has a total smart cache of 12 MB. The chip supports a TDP (Thermal Design Power) of up to 95W and is completely compatible with the LGA 1151 socket. The processor, as the name suggests, will be unlocked for overclocking.

Videocardz has reportedly published a leaked CPU-Z snapshot of a new Intel 6-core processor chip.

The snapshot shows an Intel chip that features six cores and twelve threads, TDP of 80W and LGA1151 socket support. It has a base clock of 3.5 GHz that goes up to 3.9GHz or higher with turbo boost and a maximum multiplier of 43.

While some reports suggests that Intel is getting ready to unveil its new line of desktop processors next month, some others are claiming that the highly awaited launch will might get pushed to early 2018. Intel is yet to officially announce the release date.
