Google took the technology market by a pleasant surprise when the search-giant decided to foray into the smartphone market back in 2016. It was uncertain as to what could be expected from Google as far as its smartphones were concerned, they surely managed to steal the show through its Pixel and Pixel Xl flagship devices. Following which, Google began giving a tough competition to other big smartphone brands including Samsung, Apple and OnePlus.

A new year arrived, and speculations regarding whether Google will continue to renew its flagship lineup started haunting its fans. Much to their relief, the search-giant earlier this year confirmed that they are working on the successors to last year’s devices, Google Pixel 2 and Pixel XL 2 smartphones. Now, a new report seems to be carrying official CAD Renders of the upcoming devices.

What leaks have to say?

Technology website MySmartPrice published the alleged CAD renders of the expected smartphones. The same information was then affirmed by prolific Twitter leakster @OnLeaks later in the day.

The recent posting consists of an array of renders of the upcoming flagships. The alleged renders seem to have revealed the possible design as well as the other primary specifications of the smartphones.

Specs and features

By this information, it is safe to assume that the upcoming Google smartphones pack-up thinner-than-usual bezels on the top, bottom and sides of the front panel. Apart from that, the device present in the leaked images looks uncannily familiar to LG’s recently-launched flagship smartphone, the LG G6. This has also given more value to the authenticity of the upcoming smartphone because as per previous leaks, LG Electronics is expected to take up charge for manufacturing of the future Google Pixel 2 and Pixel XL 2 smartphones.

The sources further go on to suggest that the Google Pixel 2 will feature a 145.3 x 69.3 x 7.9mm dimensions. Meanwhile, the smartphone will carry an 8.2mm thick camera bump. The Google Pixel XL smartphone, on the other hand, is expected to carry a 157.6 x 76.3 x 7.9mm dimension. The devices showcased through the images do not carry a dual rear camera system. It seems like the previous leaks that claimed that the upcoming Google smartphones would come with a dual rear camera, have been refuted. Google is expected to introduce the upcoming smartphones towards the end of this year.
