Samsung earlier this week confirmed that the firm was planning on unveiling its much-awaited Note 8 smartphone at its ‘Unpacked’ event, scheduled to take place on 23rd August.

The South-Korean technology giant has long been rumored to be working on this flagship device. The pressure is immense on the company especially because they faltered and failed to deliver the expectations of the users back in 2016, thanks to the infamous Galaxy Note 7 fiasco.

Since the Galaxy Note 8 will serve as the successor to the Note 7 smartphone, it is pretty evident that the smartphone manufacturer has a lot of expectations to meet.

A new report now suggests that the company will also be introducing a special ‘Emperor Edition’ of its upcoming smartphone.

The premium Note 8 edition

According to a report published by Sammobile, Samsung alongside the launch of its official flagship will also be taking the wraps off a special ‘Emperor Edition’ Galaxy Note 8 device as well. The company will not necessarily launch the latter at the same time. However, the chances are that the company might end up introducing the smartphone towards the beginning of September. The same report further goes on to suggest that the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 (Emperor Edition) is expected to arrive with 8GB of RAM along with 256GB of Internal Storage.

Specs and features

The report cited an unidentified industry insider, who claimed that he/she is aware of the internal matters taking place between Samsung and its manufacturer, Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM). As per what the industry insider had to say, the firm is apparently finalizing the definite components set to arrive in the new ‘Emperor Edition’ of Samsung smartphone.

The device will also reportedly come in a first 6GB RAM plus 64GB internal storage variant as well. Whether the special edition smartphone will be launched globally or not, is still a question that hasn’t been addressed by either the company or the industry insiders.

The notable difference between the standard smartphone and the Emperor Edition will probably be the design.

The former will end up being more sophisticated regarding looks; however, the ‘Emperor Edition’ might end up looking fancier. Apart from that, the internal specifications of both the smartphones will remain the same. Samsung’s upcoming smartphone is expected to be among the most expensive offerings made by Samsung till date.
