Samsung, the South Korean tech titan, is reportedly developing a device called Galaxy Tab Active 2. It was just several months ago that the flagship device Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus were launched. Aside from those, the company is planning to relaunch the infamous Note 7 and the Galaxy Note 8 is poised to release within the year. It appears that despite these products, the company is still rolling and is again poise to release another device in the market.

Samsung is allegedly creating a couple of new variants of the Galaxy Tab Active 2.

These devices have model numbers SM-T390 and SM-T395. Several speculations are rife on the web that the upcoming device would be available in both Wi-Fi and LTE + Wi-Fi only.

The company has a list of rugged tablets that is under the Active brand. It can be recalled that the first ever tablet of this kind was launched three years ago. Although the technical specifications were just ordinary, the devices have water and dust resistance and interestingly is shock proof.

Specs of the previous device

The first device was launched with an 8-inch display. It sport 800 x 1,200 pixel resolution. It had Adreno 305 graphics processing unit (GPU). It's also equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor. The device was released with 1.5 GB of Random Access Memory (RAM).

It also had 16 GB of storage that can be expanded to 64 GB. In terms of the previous device’s camera, given that it was released three years ago, it's not that impressive. It only had a 3.15-megapixel sensor on its primary camera. On the other hand, its front-facing camera had only 1.5-megapixel. The device aside from its rough and sturdy build had a 4,450 battery capacity.

In another report, it was revealed that the upcoming device from the South Korean tech titan will have entry-level specifications. In other words, the device is not going to be a high-end one. Aside from that, the Galaxy Tab Active 2 would be released initially in Latin America and European regions. The device is expected to be released during IFA 2017.

In the coming days, more information about the specifications of the device would be revealed. The South Korean tech titan is yet to release an official comment about the upcoming tablet.
