Oneplus announced the coming of its newest flagship smartphone, OnePlus5, on June 20. Evidently, the company skipped the making of OnePlus 4 as it is an unlucky number in China and went straight to number 5.

As the smartphone manufacturer is known for revealing little details of its new product, its CEO Pete Lau shared a teaser photo of its new phone on Weibo. This is the company’s way to let everyone know that they have a new phone in the making. Not only that, but it is also a way in building hype for their upcoming handheld device by continuously tweeting some hints about it almost every day.

Leaked photo of the device

As OnePlus 5 is going to be unveiled soon, Android Police has released an alleged image of the device, claiming it is the real picture.

From the looks of it, you can definitely tell that it is opting to have the look of an iPhone. The smartphone seems to have a dual-camera system that is very similar to the popular smartphone from Apple. It also appears to be available in black, which entirely contradicts the normal color of other OnePlus smartphones released. To recall, OnePlus 3T was not initially revealed to be black.

So far, these are the only details you can notice on the unveiled alleged photo of the handheld device. Surely, there will be more information about it that will be revealed in the coming weeks.

The assumed specs of the smartphone

Internal wise, the specs of OnePlus 5 is said to have Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 processor. It has a massive 5.5-inch display with 2,560 x 1,440-pixel QHD resolution. It has been known that OnePlus is collaborating with DxO for more optimize camera performance. The phone carries 12-megapixel dual rear cameras and 8-megapixel front camera.

According to CNet, it will be powered by six or eight GB of RAM with OxygenOS based on Android. The others feature it has are the fingerprint scanner and 4G LTE multimode modem. It can even be used longer with its mammoth-sized 3,600-mAh battery.

Although it is not yet revealed how much this phone will cost, it is assumed to be roughly about $449.

However, the tech enthusiasts should only take these assumptions with a grain of salt as nothing is confirmed yet by the smartphone manufacturer itself.

But as OnePlus 3 and 3T, which come with invaluable specs, features, design, and performance, still carries a very reasonable price, the brand’s supporters are expecting to have the same deal.
