HP has just unveiled its latest line of gaming laptops and PCs for its new Omen gaming hardware brand. The company previously debut the new brand last year, which was meant to be a series of hardcore products for serious gamers.

A portable gaming PC

The most notable of HP's new Omen line of gaming products has to be its brand new Omen X Compact PC. The "desktop" is an ultra slim computer that is mounted on a pedestal and functions like a normal PC.

However, its biggest feature is that the entire device can actually be mounted in a backpack accessory and then be worn without any wires for virtual reality applications and games.

The backpack PC is equipped with a 7th generation Kaby Lake Intel Core i7 processor and a GeForce Gtx 1080 GPU. The Omen X is sold as a standalone PC with a detachable dock/pedestal. The device is priced at $2,499 for the base model, while the backpack accessory is sold separately at $599.99.

Ultimate gaming desktop

Aside from the backpack PC, HP is also offering a traditional PC called the Omen Desktop. The powerful gaming PC was designed to be fully scalable with a myriad of options available for consumers.

The PC is marketed to those who don't necessarily want to build their own machine and prefer to get a readymade product straight from the factory. The desktop can be optioned to either have an Intel Kaby Lake processor or the latest AMD Ryzen chips. Users also have the option to go for either a GTX 1080 or a Radeon RX 580 GPU.

The Omen Desktop has been designed to look like a "fighter jet," which is evident in its abundant use of carbon fiber layers. Unlike the previous Omen PC, the new model is able to support dual graphics cards. The base model, with a GTX 1050 GPU and a Core i5 CPU starts at $899. The highest end model is sold at close to $3,000 and is equipped with dual GTX 1080 GPUs.

Portable gaming laptops

HP is also offering two different products for users who want to take their gaming outside of their homes. The company has unveiled two new Omen laptops, namely a 15-inch model and a 17-inch model. The laptops have been designed to look more aggressive this time around with a lot of red LEDs and a red backlit keyboard. The laptops can be equipped with different Kaby Lake chips and different RAM configurations. Both laptops have can also be options to either have a 4K or a full HD 1080 display. The 1080p display can either have a FreeSync or G-Sync support depending on the type of GPU that is selected. Users can either go for a GTX 1070 or an RX 580 for both models. The 15-inch model will start at $999, while the 17-inch model starts at $1,099.
