Are you on the verge of buying a smartphone? Are you considering buying the Pixel Xl? If the answer to both the questions is resounding yes, then there is no better time than now to buy the Google Pixel XL. In a promotional offer, targeted to increase the sales of Google Home to counter Apple’s HomePod, the Alphabet-owned company is offering its smart speaker for free with the purchase of a Pixel XL.

Google Home comes free

If a consumer purchases the Pixel XL smartphone from the Google Store, the company would give the buyer a Google Home for free.

The buyers get the speaker worth $129.99. However, it must be clarified that the offer extends only to the Pixel XL and not its smaller sibling. Thus when you add the 32 GB variant of the Pixel XL for $769 or the 128GB models, which costs $869, along with the smart speaker to your cart, the Google Home’s price will get subtracted.

When does the deal start?

The promotional offer is available in the United States and kicks off on Monday, June 19. The promo will continue while “supplies last.” The procedure to avail this offer is a simple one. The consumer will have to add both the products in the shopping cart and the discount will be levied on the total amount automatically. If the consumer wants to opt for the monthly installment option for buying he/she can pay $27.04/month for 24 months under Google Store Financing plan.

Apart from the geographical restriction of the offer, there are no additional caveats. All the colors and storage variants of the Google Pixel XL are eligible for purchase through this offer.

Other offers

If you are already an owner of a Pixel XL or Pixel this deal won’t be too beneficial. However, Google is also offering discounts on some of the protective cases for the two smartphones.

Currently, the clear Pixel XL Case and the Clear Pixel Case are on offer. One can buy the cases at half its original price for a limited period. The cases retail for $30 normally but are now available for $15. Apart from these, Google’s polycarbonate/silicone cases for both the two smartphones are also available at a 50 percent discount.

The company has slashed the price from $35 to $17.50.

Whether this deal from the company will draw away consumers from the HomePod toward the Google Home remains to be seen. The fact that the Google smart speaker is a lot cheaper may give it an edge over the Apple offering. However, it appears that the company does not want to take any chances and, therefore, introduced this offer.
