Although Apple is busy working on improved versions of its devices like the iPhone, iPad, and MacBook, it doesn't mean that they do not have time to work on new products anymore. Reports have it that the tech giant is working on an Apple Siri speaker which will be out later this year.
The Siri-controlled speaker is set to debut during Apple's WWDC annual conference in June. But it won't be available for shipping at once. Based on the report from 9to5Mac, this new Apple product is very promising.
Apple's edge from competitors
Even before Apple made this Siri-based speaker, there are already existing speakers similar to it.
This includes the Echo of Amazon.com Inc. and Google Home speakers from Alphabet Inc. But Apple's new product is different from its competitors since it offers a virtual surround sound technology as well as an integration of other Apple products.
The manufacturer of the AirPods will build the new speaker which was already in prototype testing months ago. The new speaker will produce a louder and crisper sound than its competitors. It will also feature sensors that will measure the acoustics of the room, and its audio levels will adjust automatically during usage. But one major edge is its compatibility with the other Apple products.
Other possible features
Aside from those mentioned, the speaker will also be used for the HomeKit system of Apple.
With this, users can control their window blinds, lights, and even door locks through the speaker. By bringing Siri into the user's HomeKit and by integrating Apple Music into it, it will no doubt become more attractive to users. But unlike the Amazon Echo, the upcoming Siri speaker will not include a touchscreen.
It is also possible that they will collaborate with other companies to offer third-party services.
It is noted that iPhone's Siri allows users to order a ride from Uber and send a message on WhatsApp using the voice command.
The WWDC 2017 event
It is not only the Siri speaker that will possibly be announced at the WWDC 2017 on June 5-9 at the McEbert Convention Center in San Jose, California. It will also reveal the much awaited 10.5 and 12.9-inch models of the iPad Pro as well as new Macs.
There are also speculations that iOS 11 and the new iPhone 8 will be revealed.
Since the AppleSiri speaker is already in the works, it is possible that Apple enthusiasts will get a grab of it later this year which could be months after its WWDC launching. Are you looking forward to this new Apple device?
