In March, Nintendo released the highly anticipated "Legend Of Zelda: Breath of Wild," the action-adventure video game for the Wii U and Nintendo Switch. The game was received warmly by both critics and players alike, garnering awards even before its release.
The game is set to receive its first DLC, details of which the studio has now unveiled. While there's no release date attached to the first expansion just yet, Nintendo has released details, including information about the Korok Mask and more new content arriving to the game.
'The Master Trials' DLC arriving later this year
The first DLC for "Legend of Zelda: Breath of Wild" is currently part of the Expansion Pass that costs $20. It features the Trial of the Sword, a new Hard Mode, Hero's Path Mode, the Korok Mask, and a Travel Medallion. Players should also expect eight new interesting equipments to aid in their journey.
According to IGN, "Trial of the Sword" was previously titled "Cave of Trials Challenge," which players must defeat all the enemies located in 45 rooms, without the help of any weapons or armor. By completing this challenge, players can make sure that the Master Sword will "always be in its glowing powered-up state."
Meanwhile, the new Hard Mode in the "Legend of Zelda: Breath of Wild" first DLC will feature "higher-ranking enemies" that players won't regularly find in the game.
The Hard Mode also enables enemies to easily find Link, as well as recover their health.
As for Hero's Path Mode, players will find that they can now make a green path on the game's Hyrule map, showing a timeline of the player's last 200 hours. The Travel Medallion, which is hidden in a chest and must be found, enables Link to quickly travel to any point.
As per VG247, the first DLC offers eight new treasures chests that feature several equipment from previous "Zelda" games, as well as a ninth chest that features the Korok Mask. This mask enables Link to collect over 900 Koroks. When worn, the mask will shake to alert Link of a nearby Korok.
'Zelda: Breath of Wild' costume packs rumored for 'Mario Kart 8' Deluxe
The fun doesn't end there for fans of the game. According to Mic, there's a possibility that Nintendo would offer a 'Zelda' costume pack for "Mario Kart 8" players who have the deluxe version of the game.
The media outlet reported that such an offering would further entice players to get their hands on the already popular game. To keep up with the latest on "Legend of Zelda: Breath of Wild" first DLC titled "The Master Trials," make sure to bookmark this page.
