The first teaser of EA’s “Star Wars: Battlefront 2” released last weekend. The new game developed by Battlefield developer DICE in collaboration with Criterion Games is based on the theme revenge and will star a brand new heroine named Iden Versio. Star Wars fans and ardent gamers alike are expecting the game to release on November 17, 2017.
VR Support for ‘Star Wars: Battlefront 2.'
It is being expected that the upcoming game will come for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Earlier it was touted by many reports that the game needs VR support for maximum user satisfaction.
In a recent interview with Eurogamer, Criterion gave away major hints regarding the same. “We are not talking about VR at the moment for Battlefront 2. That’s a story for another day…,” noted Matt Webster, the game’s developer in the interview with Eurogamer.
Webster’s vague statement certainly seems to hint that some kind of VR support is in development for the new game. “Star Wars: Battlefront 2,” builds on the original Star Wars shooter video game released back in 2015. The first “Star Wars: Battlefront” was a single player and multiplayer video game, but it remains to be seen how the new game will incorporate VR support in its gameplay. This won’t be the first time Battlefront will be dealing with VR support.
In late 2016, developer Criterion released a free add-on for the PlayStation 4 version of the original game. The add-on was a PSVR or PlayStation VR that was exclusive for single-player missions only. In the PSVR supported missions, the gamers took control of an iconic X-Wing spaceship and went on a rescue mission. This operation was associated with the events shown on “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story,” motion picture, which released in 2016.
Gameplay features
“Star Wars: Battlefront 2” comes with loads of features such as single-player mode, expanded multiplayer mode, space battles, and split screen in co-op. Apart from these, the game will also feature characters from every era. The title will also allow gamers to customize unique abilities of the heroes in the game along with the troopers, as well as Starfighters.
Single player and multiplayer modes
The single-player mode will star Iden Versio, commander of Inferno Squad. The squad is a royal special force which mounts a deadly attack on the ground, as well as in space. In the multiplayer mode, the gamer will be able to join up to 40 other players in massive fights. These battles will take place in locations across all eras.
Pre-order gifts
Developers have kept some special in-game rewards aside for the customers who pre-order the game. Pre-ordering the game will give the gamers a chance to play it well before the worldwide release of “Star Wars: Battlefront II.” The game costs $79.99 in pre-order for Xbox One and $69.58 for PlayStation 4.
