Apart from Amazon, the Pro Trek Smart WSD-F20 can also be brought on the company’s website. The price is the same as Amazon i.e. $500, and the wearable is available in black and orange. Casio will ship the smartwatch within ten business days.
Smartwatch’s features and specs
The device is the second product from the company in its Smart Outdoor Watch category. The first product in this division – the Smart Outdoor Watch WSD-F10 – was released in March 2016.
The name “Pro-Tek” indicates that WSD-F20 is the wearable tech for individuals who have an active lifestyle.
The smartwatch comes with a water resistance of up to 50 meters and has been certified by the U.S. military on its ruggedness (MIL-STD-810). The WSD-F20 comes with a 1.32-inch dual-layer display with 320 x 300 pixels resolution.
The smartwatch incorporates color map functionality and low-power GPS that can be accessed offline as well. This feature will come handy for many adventure enthusiasts.
Mapbox app
The Mapbox app permits easy readability of the map data. The inbuilt Location Memory app in the WSD-F20, allows a user to add text and markers on unspecified spots so that they can visit them later.
Casio reveals that the rugged build of the smartwatch was achieved by incorporating a protective bezel, button guards, and side buttons of varying sizes to improve the robustness of the device and make it perfect for outdoor adventures.
Whether the Casio wearable will find favor with consumers and adventure enthusiasts remains to be seen. At $500, the attractive-looking smartwatch is pretty inexpensive and may lure people.
