Mass Effect Andromeda” recently canceled their public Multiplayer tech test to the dismay of many fans. However, one of the producers on the game, Fernando Melo, has recently released a photo on Twitter to tease details about the multiplayer of the game scheduled to release on March 21, 2017.

A wealth of new information

The photo released displays for all the characters available for selection in the multiplayer, with the bulk of them being humans. There are playable alien characters with nearly three krogan, two asari, a salarian, and a turian filling up the roster.

It is unclear if any other, more extravagant alien races will be added to the multiplayer, such as one of the new races in Andromeda or characters like the biotic volus from “Mass Effect 3.”

Throwback memories

Fans of the series will remember that “Mass Effect 3” had a long list of characters from different alien races. The rare batarians and volus were welcomed oddities to the multiplayer, along with the krogan and asari being flushed out quite extensively. Turians were never popular because of their ironic lack of skills compared to their peers. Yet, salarians could be quite a dominating force with their technology.

Old school favorites

The infiltrator salarian, in particular, was quite a devious warrior when played properly with a sniper rifle.

It will be interesting to see what returning and new abilities are afforded to the alien characters in “Mass Effect Andromeda.” Imagine playing as a member of the angaran race and being afforded some brand new abilities. Moreover, it will be interesting to see how developer Bioware will expand on the asari, krogan, salarian, and turian characters in the game.

Turians and Salarians have the smallest numbers right now, so both groups could be the first to see some attention in the first batches of downloadable content.

Krogan make us holler

We will surely see a variety of selection with the krogan, with three being in the base game at launch. Perhaps a krogan warlord, baby krogan, and a standard krogan warrior?

Nobody can forget the biotic krogan from “Mass Effect 3” which literally made the krogan into a cannonball. Either way, fans of the krogan will be pleased with the initial launch of this game release.

DLC

Downloadable content for the game is also a viable route, which will likely bring us the addition of more alien races from the Andromeda galaxy. Angara and others might receive some attention in the multiplayer, so be on the look out for content once the game has been released on March 21, 2017. Multiplayer will also connect to the main story of Mass Effect Andromedasomehow, but not in the same ways performed in “Mass Effect 3.” Thankfully, the developers listened to the fans about this feature.

When it rains, it pours

More information about the multiplayer and the specific classes will be available soon with the game slated to debut the multiplayer mode at PAX East, which begins on March 10, 2017. Expect more in-depth details about specific playable alien races, roles for classes, and an extensive in-depth look at the entire multiplayer mode. “Mass Effect Andromeda” will release on March 21, 2017 and has recently announced an extensive voice cast.
