The Nebraska football team hosted a transfer target tight end on Tuesday (May 28) and it turns out he could be deciding between a trio of teams by the weekend. Travis Vokolek recently talked to Derek Young, who is one of the Kansas State recruiting analysts for Rivals.com. He says he spoke with the tight end on Tuesday afternoon.

Vokolek told him that he had officially finished his visit with the Huskers and that he now had a very good idea about where he would end up.

Because it was a Kansas State recruiting guru relaying the story, he wasn't about to share whether or not the tight end loved what he saw at Nebraska.

What we do know is that the Cornhuskers are still very much in the running. The former Rutgers pass catcher said he will be determining his final college choice later this week and is deciding between Nebraska, Kansas State, and Iowa.

Reading the tea leaves

The Huskers appear to be in fairly good shape because Scott Frost and company came in relatively late in the process. Vokolek had visited both Iowa and Kansas State a few weeks ago. At the time, he told 247Sports he would be choosing between the two schools, "soon."

Then the Nebraska football team came into the picture.

While the Huskers don't have obvious space for the tight end on their roster, it appears as though the coaching staff has made it clear they will find a spot for him.

Nebraska football recruiting on a bit of a roll

While they haven't reeled in Travis Vokolek just yet, it appears the team has a shot. That means the team is on quite the run when it comes to good news on the recruiting front. Last week, the Cornhuskers landed themselves on more than a few top teams lists.

Those lists included a pair of linebackers, one on the outside and one on the inside, that announced the Nebraska football team had made their cuts. Choe Bryant-Strother and Bangally Kamara are not the most hyped prospects in the 2020 class, but they are talented enough to garner support from some of the best of the best when it comes to the Big Ten.

Then there is the story of Perrion Winfrey. The JUCO defensive tackle visited Nebraska football just a few days ago, and, like Vokolek, appeared to like what he saw at Memorial Stadium. The Iowa Western C.C. player returned from Lincoln and almost immediately announced his top eight teams.

The Huskers were listed among teams like Alabama and Florida State. The Cornhuskers seem to have a bit of an edge with him because he's already in the team's back yard. Vokolek, coming from Rutgers, isn't all that close to any of the three schools currently recruiting him, though he's a native of the area. The Nebraska football target came up in Springfield, Missouri. He was the 12th best player in the state in the 2017 class out of high school.
