While Nebraska football target Jake Garcia gets more and more attention from other schools, the Huskers continue to target new players at the position. Last week, the Cornhuskers made two new offers to quarterback targets in the 2021 class. Over the last few days, there has been yet another duo that is now being openly and heavily recruited by Scott Frost and company. Dematrius Davis Jr and Jalen Milroe are the newest signal-callers to receive an offer to play their college games in Lincoln.
Nebraska football building plan B, C, and D at quarterback
While it's clear the Huskers would like to land Jake Garcia, the prospects of that happening have been dwindling for a while now. He's being recruited by some of the best teams in the country and seems to be showing those teams more love than he is Nebraska these days. Most recently, the Narbonne quarterback showed up to the much-hyped prospect showcase The Opening wearing a Texas Longhorns jacket.

Certainly, that doesn't mean he is a shoo-in to go play in Austin, but he's made comments in the past that hint at Texas being one of his front-runners - for the moment.
As the Nebraska football team turns its attention to the 2020 and 2021 classes, it's clear the staff is doing everything it can to shore up the position for the near future. The most interesting thing about the four players that have been offered at quarterback are the different backgrounds they're from. It appears Mario Verduzco has his list of key targets that are highly ranked and then some diamond in the rough prospects who could be plan B, C, or D.
Latest offers under the radar targets?
Both Jalen Milroe and Dematrius Davis Jr might look like under the radar targets at first glance. Neither player has rankings, composite or otherwise, by 247Sports. That doesn't mean either quarterback isn't likely to be a hot commodity moving forward. Milroe now has five total offers and while Nebraska is the first Power 5 team, it's clear the attention on the Katy, Texas dual-threat is increasing.
Houston has to currently be the biggest competitor for the Huskers, but Milroe did just attend Texas A&M's Junior Day. Tulsa recently came calling as well.

For Dematrius Davis, the attention from FBS schools has officially arrived. The Nebraska football team joins 15 other teams that have officially offered. That includes Arkansas, LSU, Florida State, and Houston once again.
Just how this hunt for quarterbacks in the 2021 class pans out is going to be interesting to watch moving forward.
