The NFL power rankings for Week 10 have been released and for many teams, just when it looks like they are turning the corner, they stumble. That has been the story of 2018 so far - that is unless you are one of the big four.
The Los Angeles Rams, New Orleans Saints, New England Patriots, and Kansas City Chiefs continue to roll the competition while the rest of the league is sitting in the middle of the pack.
Second-tier rising
The Carolina Panthers and Pittsburgh have shown a nice spurt of late, however, teams like the Seattle Seahawks, Washington Redskins, Detroit Lions and Baltimore Ravens are hard to get a read on.
One week these teams look like a definite postseason contender, the next they almost seem like they are on a different page.
While the “big four” continue to dominate heading into Week 10, the Panthers, Steelers, and Texans all deserve some serious credit for rebounding after slow starts.
According to a CBS Sports report, Houston won their sixth straight game by defeating the Denver Broncos 19-17 Sunday afternoon. After a 0-3 start to the 2018 season, the Texans have quietly taken control of the AFC South.
The Steelers have now won four straight and are leading the AFC North and Cam Newton has the Carolina Panthers looking like a serious contender in the NFC after leading his squad to three straight wins and a 6-2 record heading into the second half of the season.
Charging
The Rams are getting all the hype, but watch out for that “other” team who plays in the city of Los Angeles! The LA Chargers have rolled to their fifth consecutive victory in Week 9 over the Seattle Seahawks 25-17.
Philip Rivers continued his impressive 2018 campaign by throwing for 228 yards and two touchdowns in the win. Rivers now has thrown 19 touchdowns to just three interceptions and just over 2,200 total yards. The Bolts are dangerous folks!
