LeBron James is the face of the Cleveland Cavaliers franchise and ever since he returned to the team, they have made it to the NBA Finals. This season, they have to beat the Boston Celtics in three of the next five games if they want to make it to a fourth consecutive NBA Finals, and that will be a tough order even after the Cavs dominated the Celtics in Game 3. With that said, the Houston Rockets blew out the Golden State Warriors in Game 2 and then saw the Warriors blow out the Rockets in the very next game. That proves that the Cavs can't rely on their last win and have to keep playing like their season is on the line.

With LeBron's future in Cleveland in doubt, they also might be playing for their own future as a franchise. When talking about LeBron James, former Celtics great Paul Pierce had some pointed comments and gave his advice on what LeBron should do after this season comes to an end.

Paul Pierce talks LeBron James

LeBron James has a big decision to make at the end of the 2018 NBA postseason. Whether his Cleveland Cavaliers make it back to the NBA Finals or not, James has to decide whether he will opt out of his current deal with the Cavs and move on into free agency or whether he will come back for the final year of his deal and try to bring another title to Cleveland.

At the age of 33, this could be LeBron James last chance for a big free agent contract and former Boston Celtics great Paul Pierce said that James should make that move right now instead of sticking around Cleveland to make another $35.6 million in 2018-19.

When it comes to Pierce and his comments, James has made it clear that the former Celtics star was important in his career, saying that he was one of the reasons that LeBron worked on becoming great.

What should LeBron do?

When asked what LeBron James should do when the current NBA season ends, Paul Pierce said that LeBron should leave the Cleveland Cavaliers.

When it comes to staying in Cleveland, Pierce believes that is not a smart idea if LeBron wants to continue to challenge for NBA titles.

Pierce also doesn't think that LeBron James should head to the Los Angeles Lakers like many fans feel he plans to do. Instead, Paul Pierce said that LeBron should sign with either the Philadelphia 76ers or Houston Rockets if he wants to make a serious NBA title run in 2018-19.

Paul Pierce said that he doesn't see what the Lakers can do to become an instant NBA title contender, even if they sign LeBron James. “It’d have to be a quick fix to be a contender in one year for Los Angeles," Pierce said. He even went as far as to say that the Lakers would rather have Kawhi Leonard next year than LeBron.
