The Cleveland Cavaliers are supposed to be one of the best teams in the NBA, yet they have struggled to win consistently and have dealt with numerous problems this season. At the moment, the reigning Eastern Conference champions are 32-22, which is good enough only for the third-best record in the conference. In the entire league, their record is ranked sixth, and it's questionable whether they can reach the NBA Finals this year.
The Cavaliers realized that something had to be done, so they made some huge moves a few hours before this year's NBA trade deadline.
Cleveland may have gone too far as the team got rid of both Isaiah Thomas and Dwyane Wade, among other players. However, the Cavs are not done making roster moves yet, and it seems they are targeting a Big Man during a buyout season.
Cleveland needs another big man
After trading Channing Frye to the Los Angeles Lakers, the Cleveland Cavaliers now only have Kevin Love who is a big man that can stretch the floor. Ideally, they would sign another center or a power forward who can shoot threes, but that may not be an easy task to do.
The Cavaliers, who are the only top 8 team in the league with a negative point differential, are apparently interested in bringing Kendrick Perkins back. The center even announced his comeback on Instagram, but he deleted the post shortly after.
Considering that Cleveland has two roster spots, it won't be surprising if they use one spot on the veteran big man.

While the Cavaliers could certainly use Perkins' veteran presence, it is doubtful that he could have a big impact on the team.
After all, the center is 33 and he hasn't played in the NBA for over two years. Cleveland needs a better big man that will help the team go deep in the playoffs and possibly win another championship.
Potential targets
Ersan Ilyasova could be waived by the Atlanta Hawks soon, which would make him eligible to sign with the Cavaliers.
Ilyasova is a 6-foot-10 power forward who is averaging 10.6 points and 5.4 rebounds per game this season with the Hawks. In addition, the big man is shooting 36.5 percent from the long range, which is something the Cavs would benefit from as he could space the floor.
Beside Ilyasova, a few other big-name players could hit the market in the next few days. This includes Brook Lopez, who is one of the best scoring big men in the league, and Tyson Chandler, NBA champion and a former Defensive Player of the Year.
