LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers are no strangers to NBA trade rumors. In the past couple of years, LeBron and the Cavs found themselves in these conversations, mainly because of their search for a prominent center. Nothing has changed this season as they are linked to a few names again. Perhaps the only difference is that aside from their goal to add a star big man, they might also trade away one of their own.

DeAndre Jordan sweepstakes

Los Angeles Clippers center DeAndre Jordan is one of the reasons why the Cavaliers are in NBA trade rumors.

Many believe that the reigning Eastern Conference champions are interested in completing a trade to get the one-time All-Star from the Clippers.

Jordan's name became a hot topic in NBA trade rumors when the Clippers experienced their first daunting test of the 2017-18 NBA season. In November, the Clippers went on a nine-game losing run. During that stretch, fans thought that it was already time for Lob City to rebuild. When a franchise undergoes this process, it involves parting ways with valuable assets, and Jordan is one of those for the Clippers. When the 29-year-old got mentioned in trade talks, several teams immediately emerged as potential suitors, and the Cavaliers were among them.

It is safe to say that the Clippers already recovered.

Despite this, the NBA trade rumors linking Jordan to the Cavaliers remain rampant.

Bye bye, Tristan?

Another player/center that is keeping LeBron James and the Cavaliers in NBA trade rumors is Tristan Thompson. The present season has been challenging for him.

Before the Cavaliers opened their season, Thompson lost his starting job.

Head coach Tyronn Lue opted to start Kevin Love at center for offensive purposes. In November to early December, Thompson needed to sit out due to a calf injury. In his absence, the Cavs regained their playoff form and went on a tear. The 26-year-old came back in mid-December. However, since he returned, the Cavs have gone 3-4 (currently riding a three-game losing streak).

A report by King James Gospel suggested that instead of making the Cavaliers better, Thompson made them worst. That is why it may be time for them to split up with him. NBA trade rumors centered on Thompson are nothing new.

When LeBron and the Cavaliers lost to the Golden State Warriors in the 2017 NBA Finals, part of the blame went to Thompson because of his lackluster performances. Some Cavs fans wanted him out of Cleveland due to this, and there were proposed trades that would see him leave "The Land," but none materialized.
