The Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, PA will be rocking next January when the WWE rolls into town for the 2018 Royal Rumble. It is hard to believe, but the 2018 version of the Royal Rumble will be the 30th anniversary of this popular wrestling event - and it gets bigger and better each year!
Vegas odds have many surprise entrants
With the Wwe Royal Rumble 2018 match just over a month away, there are many WWE rumors regarding which celebrities may grace the ring as surprise entrants. The biggest names and the hottest celebs have been known to mix it up a bit when huge WWE events take place, and according to online sportsbook Paddy Power, several stars have been listed with odds the public can wager on!
Let’s start with the sports figures. MMA stars Conor McGregor and Ronda Rousey are both on the prop odds list to win the Royal Rumble 2018 match. McGregor is currently listed at 100/1, while Rousey is 150/1. Of course, McGregor is coming off the much-hyped boxing match against Floyd Mayweather. And yes, in case you are wondering, Mayweather is also on the list of possible surprise entrants for the big event. Mayweather is listed at 400/1 to take home the Royal Rumble title.
Wouldn’t that be something? Mayweather fights McGregor in a crossover of sports, then he heads to the WWE to win the Royal Rumble? I wouldn’t bet on that happening, but if it did, the payout would be huge!
Now, you can’t have a WWE mega event without including the possibility of a retired or departed star or two coming back, can you?
Paddy Power has Hulk Hogan, CM Punk, Goldberg and Daniel Bryan all listed as possibilities. They also have the legendary Undertaker on the board as well.
Presidents, celebs, and Gronk
How about a little politics to go along with your serving of WWE madness at the 2018 Royal Rumble? Former President Barack Obama and current President Donald Trump have made the list of over 100 possible candidates to show up at the Royal Rumble.
President Barack Obama is listed at 1000/1 to win the match, while current President Donald Trump is slightly better at 750/1. Trump has mixed it up before with the WWE, however, the odds of him showing up now that he is the current Commander-in-chief isn't that great.
Names you have to mention when you are talking about a major WWE event are John Cena and The Rock.
Both of these guys have had outstanding careers outside of wrestling, and it shouldn't surprise anyone to see them as one of the few left standing at the 2018 Royal Rumble this January. Cena is the current favorite to win the Royal Rumble at 9/4, while The Rock is set at 50/1.
Last but never least, you can't leave out Gronk. New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski mixed it up at Wrestlemania 33.
Back on April 2, 2017, Gronk jumped into the ring to assist Mojo Rawley in winning the Andre the Giant Battle Royal. As of right now, Gronk is not listed on the odds board to possibly participate and win the 2018 Royal Rumble, and Patriots fans like it that way. If Gronk ends up on the board, it most likely is only because the Patriots aren't in the AFC Championship or headed to Super Bowl 52.
