The Houston Astros have made history by winning their first-ever World Series title. Justin Verlander is finally a World Series champion after the Houston Astros beat the Los Angeles Dodgers, 5-1, in Game 7 in L.A. The transformation of this team over the past few years has been huge. A team that used to have a record way below .500 is now World Series champs. There were many players on the team that helped bring them to the postseason in junction with Verlander such as Jose Altuve. Specifically, this was visible in the ALDS, where Altuve smashed three home runs and Verlander manhandled the Boston Red Sox.

Verlander is the man

Verlander has always been considered an ace pitcher. But while he was on the Detroit Tigers, he definitely had his struggles. He inevitably found a new home with the Houston Astros. In the regular season and postseason, he has been a strikeout machine.

You can say that Verlander will be having a great week as himself, his fiancé (Kate Upton), and his team are in great spirits.

Both Upton and Verlander are set to wed in Italy. This is the first World Series title for three longtime MLB players with distinguished careers: Carlos Beltran, Justin Verlander, and Brian McCann.

Well-deserved

For someone who has earned several honors over his career, we know this one is special.

Congratulations to Verlander. There are not many players in Major League Baseball who deserved a World Series more than him. Many fans, including myself, are very happy for him. While it may be sad for the Los Angeles Dodgers, other fans are excited for a man beloved in Detroit. Best wishes on a well-deserved world championship as the city of Detroit celebrates with Justin.

Verlander won it all with Houston, but Detroit remains close to his heart. Verlander often talks about how much he enjoyed his time in Detroit and that isn't likely to end now. An interesting and fun fact to note is that the Astros traded for Justin Verlander at 11:59 EDT August 31. And in addition, they won the World Series at 11:59 EDT on November 1. This is a stat that was posted on Twitter by several sportswriters. Some things are just meant to be at the end of the day.

Verlander being traded to the Houston Astros obviously worked, because he helped his team to victory.

The moral of this story is, if you ever thought Justin Verlander wasn't Justin Verlander anymore, he'll take your apologies now. He is living his best life winning the World Series and then flying to Italy to marry Kate Upton.
