NBA preseason game continued on Saturday night as the Minnesota Timberwolves played their preseason matchup against the defending NBA champions, the Golden State Warriors for the second time in china. Stephen Curry led the Warriors to victory with his 40 points, the highest score in preseason so far.
Victory for the Golden State Warriors
The Golden State Warriors came prepared to face off again the Minnesota Timberwolves as part of Preseason in Shanghai, China after they lost to the Timberwolves on Wednesday night at a score 97-111.
In the first quarter of their 2nd game, the Timberwolves took the lead, making 42 points compared to the 34 points of the Warriors.
But before the second quarter ended, the Warriors was able to outscore the Timberwolves when Stephen Curry made his three-points shot to tie the score at 66-66 and Tompson made another three-points shot. The Timberwolves was not able to outscore the Warriors again, finishing halftime with defeat at 72-76.
Heading into the 3rd quarter, the Warriors still dominate in points with the 114-95 finish. Then the Warriors started the last quarter of the game with 19-points lead. But, the Timberwolves was not able to lower the gap within the final quarter of the game, letting the Warriors finished a winning game (100-142) with 32 points lead.
Stephen Curry scored 40 amazing points
Stephen Curry led the Golden State Warriors in their game against the Timberwolves on Saturday night.
Curry did an amazing job when he scored 40 points for the team in 31 minutes of play time. Compared to his previous performance on Wednesday's game, Curry scored only 14 points.
Curry also added six rebounds, eight assists and three steals with a shooting percentage of 65 percent from the field. He made 6-of-9 three-points shots on a 66.7 percent shooting from the three-point line.
Next to Curry who contributed the high scores to the Warriors was Klay Thompson. He scored 28 points with a shooting percentage of 59 percent from the field, making 10-of-17 field goal shots.
Kevin Durant contributed 20 points in 20 minutes of play time with 53 percent shooting percentage from the field. Draymond Green and Jordan Bell provide 11 points each to the Warriors.
Andrew Wiggins led with 21 points
For the Timberwolves, the highest scorer was Andrew Wiggins with only 21 points within 24 minutes off the bench. Other double-digit scorers on the team were Karl Anthony Towns, Jimmy Buttler, Jeff Teague and Gorgui Dieng. Karl contributed 16 points while Jimmy with 15 points. Jeff Teague scored 10 points in 24 minutes while Dieng scored 11 points in 13 minutes of play time
