Several players from four teams hit the floor on Thursday night to play in the NBA preseason game and gave their best shots, including Trevor Ariza, Clint Capela, Eric Gordon, Josh Akognon, Nick Minnerath, Luo Hanchen, Kyle Lowry, Norman Powell, Damian Lillard, CJ McCollum and Jusuf Nurkic. The Houston Rockets hosted the game against Shanghai Sharks and won (144-82). On the other hand, Portland Trail Blazer hosted Raptors at Moda Center in Portland and finished a winning game (106-101).
Sharks lost against Rockets
The Shanghai Sharks played at Toyota Center in Houston on Thursday evening against the Houston Rockets as part of NBA preseason game.
It was Sharks' first preseason game and lost in 82-144 finished. This final score only means that the Rockets won the game with a 66 points lead.
Though the Sharks lost in the game, the team had the highest scoring players such as Josh Akognon and Nick Minnerath with 27 points and 22 points, respectively. But of course, these players played longer minutes for the Sharks. Within 41 minutes, Josh Akognon made right five three points shots out of 17 attempts with a shooting percentage of 29.4 percent from the three-point line.
On the winning team, Trevor Ariza led the Rockets with 18 points while shooting at a percentage of 42.9 from the field and 36.4 percent from the three-point line. He also finished the game with 10 rebounds and two assists.
Eric Gordon also played a good game as the 2nd highest contributor of scores to the team. He scored 17 points with the same shooting percentage of 62.5 from the field and three points line. Next to Gordon was Clint Capela, playing in 19 minutes for Rockets, grabbing 11 rebounds and scoring 16 points in a shooting percentage of 70 percent from the field.
Portland managed to win the game against Toronto
The Portland Trail Blazers made their first victory on Thursday night NBA preseason game versus the Toronto Raptors. The two teams played well in the first quarter, and the Portland held a 27-26 lead after the first 12 minutes of the game. Portland finished the first half with a 10 points (62-52) lead and continued until the 3rd quarter.
In the last quarter of the game, the Raptors responded with a great finished and outscored Portland 32-21, but it seemed too late after Portland built a 16 points lead within the first three-quarters of the game. Portland celebrated a winning score 106-101, their 1st in this NBA preseason.
The Portland team was led by Damian Lillard with 16 points after playing in 26 minutes. He also added 5 rebounds and 8 assists. CJ McCollum also contributed a high score of 15 points to the Trail Blazers and grabbed two rebounds for the team. Playing within 12 minutes, Jusuf Nurkic made a score of 12 points.
For the Toronto Raptors, it was Kylie Lowry who led the team in scoring with 23 points in 25 minutes of action. He also added three rebounds and six assists to the team. Norman Powell also contributed 15 points and Alfonso Mckinnie with 13 points.
