Several NBA stars hit the floor on Thursday night and played their best as part of NBA preseason game, including Aaron Gordon, Nikola Vucevic, Mario Hezonja, Yogi Ferell, Dwight Powell and Dennis Smith, Jr. Players from the Orlando Magic played against the Dallas Mavericks, winning their first in the preseason. On the other hand, the Miami Heat had their first loss in the game against the Brooklyn Nets.
Orlando Magic vs Dallas Mavericks (112-89)
The Orlando Magic celebrated their first win in Thursday evening's NBA preseason game versus the Dallas Mavericks
The Orlando has led the first quarter of the game versus the Mavericks, 31-20.
In the halftime, the home team has led the game with 18 points in total but fall against the Dallas in the third quarter at only one point, 27-26. In the last 12 minutes of the game, the Magic made sure to win with a 22-16 finish. The final score was 112-89 in favor to the Magic team with an average shooting percentage of 33 percent from the field.
Aaron Gordon led all scores in this game with 17 points, and he also added 10 rebounds while shooting 50 percent from the field and 25 percent from the three-point line. Nikola Vucevic as the 2nd highest contributor of points to the Magic also played a good game. Nikola scored 14 points, grabbing one rebound while shooting 66.7 percent from the three-point line and 54.5 percent from the field.
Mario Hezonja added 11 points and one rebound for the Orlando Magic.
On the losing team, the rookie Dennis Smith, Jr. of the Dallas led the game with 13 points while shooting 50 percent from the three-point line and 30.8 percent from the field. He made right the two out of four attempts of three-point shots, grabbing three rebounds with one assist.
Heat versus Nets (88-107)
The Brooklyn Nets won for the second time in their Thursday evening game against the Miami Heat. The winning team impressed the crowd in the first quarter with a lead of 10 points (33-23). The Nets' lead increased four points at the end of the second quarter. The winning team was consistent even in the third quarter until finished with the final score, 107-88 against the Miami Heat.
Player Jeremy Lin contributed 16 points within 24 minutes of playing for the Nets. He led in scoring during the game in a 71.4 percent shooting from the field and 66.7 percent from the three-point line. Allen Crabbe and Caris LeVert did not play due to injury or illness.
Talking about rebounds, Rondae Hollis Jefferson and Timofey Mozgov led in numbers, grabbing 17 in totals. Rondae scored 10 points while Timofey scored five points. The Nets team registered an average shooting percentage of 45.2 from the field and 33.3 from the three-point line.
