American tennis players Sloane Stephens and Madison Keys advance to a Grand Slam final for the first time in their careers. Both of them put up a great performance in their semifinal matches. 24-year-old Sloane Stephens beat the legendary Venus Williams, while 22-year-old Madison Keys won a match against Coco Vandeweghe.

Sloane Stephens edges Venus Williams for a spot in the US Open Women's Final

In a fantastic semi final match, world's number 83 defeated 37-year-old Venus Williams 6-1,0-6,7-5 and advanced to her first Grand Slam Final. Stephens, who came back after a tough injury, showed that she can win hard big matches and that she has a bright future in front of her.

In the fourth game of the first set, she broke Williams' serve and went on to win the first set after 25 minutes of playing. In the second set of the match, Williams played almost perfectly and won the set after 30 minutes of playing. In the final set,

Stephens broke Williams' serve twice (1:0;4:3), but the older Williams sister came back to tie the match. Finally, in the eleventh game of the match, Stephens broke opponent's serve one more time and went on to win a match and reserve a spot in the Final. Venus Williams lost in the final match in this year's Australian Open and Wimbledon. She won the US Open two times, in 2000 and 2001, while her last Grand Slam championship victory happened in 2008 when she won the title at Wimbledon.

With this semifinal appearance, she will make the Top 5 on the WTA list, for the first time since 2011.

An easy victory for Madison Keys

22-year-old American Madison Keys advances to her first Grand Slam Final after beating Coco Vandeweghe 6-1,6-2. In the first set, world's number 16 won first five games before Vandeweghe won her first game, but that was all she could do.

Keys won the next game and won the first set 6-1. In the second set, not much had changed. After Vandeweghe won the first game of the set, Keys won five games in the row before finishing the match in the eighth game of the set.

She played in the Australian Open semifinal in 2015, while her best result in a Grand Slam this year is the second round of Roland Garros and Wimbledon.

Sloane and Stephens played in their only head to head match in 2015 in the second round of the tournament in Miami where Stephens won 6-4,6-2. According to experts, world's number 16 Madison Keys is a slight favorite over Sloane Stephens. Women's US Open Final will take place on September 10.
