Charlotte Flair and Sasha Banks are two of WWE’s most popular Superstars. As part of the famous Four Horsewomen group, both ladies have played a big part in the Women’s Revolution. Their athletic ability and passion for Wrestling have been showcased thoroughly as they squared off in a Hell In a Cell match along with an Iron Man match.
Last year, the two women became the focus of the RAW brand as they fought for the Women’s championship. Fans tuned into every show to watch their feud unfold. The women didn’t disappoint as they delivered knockout performances in and out of the ring.
But was their onscreen rivalry the result of a real-life feud between the two women?
How did the feud begin?
This week, Charlotte Flair released her autobiography "Second Nature," which she co-wrote with her father. Excerpts from the book quickly popped up on social media. One of the interesting tidbits that have wrestling fans talking is real life friction between Charlotte and Sasha.
The book’s excerpt talks about the alleged feud, which started when they joined the main roster in 2015. Shortly after their debut, officials chose Charlotte over Sasha to get a shot at the coveted Divas championship. The news didn’t sit well with Banks, who believed she was the more established star and deserved the title shot.
Despite the objections, Charlotte went on to win the Divas Championship from Nikki Bella. As for Banks, she was placed in a group with fellow wrestlers Naomi and Tamina, who called themselves Team B.A.D. However, Sasha left the faction months later and was soon featured in the women’s title scene. Banks would finally win her first Women’s championship in July 2016, beating Charlotte for the prestigious title.
Their relationship today
This isn’t the first time a real-life feud between wrestlers has created a commotion. There have been plenty of backstage WWE feuds throughout the years. The onscreen and offscreen rivalry between Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels is well-known with wrestling fans. Plus, there was the rumored heat between AJ Lee and Nikki Bella.
The latest gossip about Charlotte and Sasha has many fans believing there was a fall out with the two women. Yet, Charlotte soon shut down the allegations. She said that there’s no friction between the two and she loves working with Sasha.
Despite the rumors, Flair and Banks have shown they’re both professionals. If there was any animosity between them, it’s clearly not affecting their wrestling careers. They’ve already established themselves as stars and will continue to be part of WWE’s history-making moments.
