The WWE "SummerSlam 2017" rumors are heating up with the pay-per-view just two weeks away. One of the biggest mysteries right now might be who will fight Alexa Bliss for the WWE "Raw" Women's Championship. It originally appeared that Bayley would get another shot at "Five Feet of Fury." However, the huggable superstar may not be able to make it to the ring.

Here's the latest on Bayley and the possible opponent for Alexa Bliss at the 2017 "SummerSlam" pay-per-view.

Bayley's situation

Several weeks ago, good friends Bayley and Sasha Banks competed in a match on WWE "Raw" with the winner becoming new No. 1 contender to challenge Alexa Bliss for the women's title. Bayley, who had come up short in several attempts to beat Alexa for the title, won that match and was looking ready to be a part of "SummerSlam 2017."

During last week's "Raw" episode, Bayley fought Nia Jax but suffered a legitimate shoulder injury during the contest. Sportskeeda recently reported that Bayley is "90% likely to miss SummerSlam" and that there were already plans made for who will take her place on the card.

The website went on to say that on Monday's new episode of WWE "Raw," Sasha Banks will take on Nia Jax in a match to determine a new No. 1 contender. The winner of the match goes on to WWE's "SummerSlam 2017" pay-per-view to challenge Alexa Bliss for the WWE "Raw" Women's Championship.

Bliss' opponent?

The most likely opponent for Alexa Bliss at "SummerSlam 2017" will be "The Boss" Sasha Banks. She had come up a bit short in her attempts to defeat Bayley for the No. 1 contender's match between the two. However, with Bayley hurt it's likely that "Raw" General Manager Kurt Angle will either tell Sasha she has the spot or set up some match or series of matches.

In the past, "Raw" had a Gauntlet series which involved both Bayley and Sasha.

Nia Jax destroyed most of the women in the Gauntlet but then Sasha Banks was able to defeat her in the final match. That set up a Sasha Banks vs. Alexa Bliss match at the previous pay-per-view.

When it comes down to it, Asuka will be busy with her own NXT match that weekend, so that leaves very few options unless Paige is going to come back miraculously in a few weeks and surprise everyone. It would be a surprise for WWE to put her in such a high profile match again so quickly too. One would have to think with Sasha's popularity she makes good sense to headline a women's championship match against "Miss Bliss."
