It's expected that the WWE "Raw" Women's Championship will be defended at "SummerSlam 2017" by Alexa Bliss, but as of this report, her opponent is unknown. Former No. 1 contender Bayley reportedly hurt her shoulder, taking her out of the match. However, Sasha Banks will battle Nia Jax on Monday night's "Raw" episode to determine a new contender and most fans are expecting "The Boss" to come away with the win. That will give Alexa Bliss and Sasha Banks yet another encounter in the ring, which they've managed to perform to the best of their abilities, despite truly disliking one another backstage.
So how do they do it?
Bliss talks Banks' matches
According to Cageside Seats, Alexa Bliss said the reason she and Sasha Banks can still work together in the ring is due to "professionalism." Basically, when you're in the wrestling business, one wrong move can lead to a bad injury. As Bliss mentions, both she and Banks have to trust one another with their bodies when in the ring.
Alexa said she's seen some of what Sasha Banks has said about her before and that's fine "if that's how she feels." However, she also said they're able to put that aside and have a "productive, professional match." Basically, the main goal for the two of them is to try to elevate the WWE women's division to the next level.
Bliss would add that they both know they have a job to do professionally and that's really what it comes down to. Doing the job well and respecting your fellow performers is something most of the best wrestlers tend to do.
Upcoming match
Sometimes that Real Life drama can also help in terms of promotional material to further the feuds.
One example is that of The Miz and Maryse who drew upon various "real life" situations that involved Nikki Bella and John Cena. The two played up these concepts as well as aspects of the reality TV show "Total Divas" and "Total Bellas" to help push their match against John and Nikki at "WrestleMania 33."
Alexa Bliss has shown herself to be one of the best women's stars on the microphone.
Sometimes her in-ring skills are lacking, and that's where "The Boss" Sasha Banks comes into play. She's been considered one of the top women's stars in the "revolution" along with fellow NXT call-up Charlotte Flair. Those two put on some tremendous matches.
There won't be too much time for Sasha and Alexa to draw upon their real life issues heading to their "SummerSlam" match though. The big pay-per-view is scheduled for next Sunday at the Barclays Center in New York. At least there's social media, right?
