As the NFL continues its slog through training camp and preseason injuries, especially major ones, are an unfortunate fact of life for many teams around the league. Today saw the Jacksonville Jaguars suffered a potentially major injury to their receiving corps, while the San Francisco 49ers have an injured first round pick from Friday's game.

Lee gets carted off, Fournette dealing with foot

Today the Jacksonville Jaguars hosted their an practice entire session inside their new indoor practice facility and also suffered a possible major injury. Fourth-year wide receiver Marqise Lee, who is coming off the best year of his career, went down with a right leg injury.

Lee was running a route over the middle of the field in 7-on-7 drills when he suddenly fell to the ground, grabbing his leg in pain in a non-contact injury.

Linebacker Telvin Smith immediately signaled for trainers to attend to Lee. His leg had to be placed in an air cast before he was carted off of the field with what appears to be a major injury. An MRI will need to be done to determine how what exactly the injury is for the 25-year-old, who was entering the final year of his contract. Lee spent his first two seasons in the league being plagued by hamstring and ankle problems until being fully healthy in 2016.

Also, the team's first-round draft pick running back Leonard Fournette missed practice today with a foot injury.

Head coach Doug Marrone said that Fournette sitting out was a precaution and that his injury is not serious. However, he did say that the running back had been dealing with the foot issue for some time.

Buckner dealing with ankle injury

DeForest Buckner, the San Francisco 49ers first-round pick last year, had to leave Friday night's preseason opener against the Kansas City Chiefs with an ankle injury.

Buckner aggravated a low ankle sprain that had caused him to miss time early in training camp. He left the game after the first series and did not return, naturally causing concern among fans of the team.

An MRI showed that the injury was not too serious. However, head coach Kyle Shanahan said that the injury will cause the defensive tackle to miss a little bit of time.

Shanahan said that Buckner will likely not play in the second preseason game against the Broncos. Also, 49ers backup defensive lineman Ronald Blair suffered a groin strain in the Chiefs game. He is expected to miss the same amount of time as Buckner.
