Kurt Angle kicked off the event by announcing August 1 as the day he won the Olympic gold medal 21 years ago. He was soon interrupted by the returning beast Brock Lesnar along with Paul Heyman. Paul complained that there is a controversy behind putting Brock Lesnar in a fatal-four-way match at "Summerslam." He went one step further, saying that Brock Lesnar will leave the WWE if he loses at "Summerslam" along with him.

The Hardy Boys in action

There was a tag team match between The Hardy Boys and The Club. The Hardy's won the match as Jeff gave a Swanton bomb to Luke Gallows and pinned him to win the match.

After the match, they were involved in a fight with The Revival, who was sitting in on commentary. The Club joined the fight and all three teams battled, with the Hardy Boys standing tall at the end.

Backstage, there was an interview with Dean Ambrose where he was asked whether he and Seth Rollins are going to work together once again. Seth joined the conversation but Dean was not looking convinced and still looked upset with Rollins for the betrayal a few years back when they both were a part of The Shield.

Later, tag team champions Sheamus and Cesaro made fun of Seth Rollins as a result of which, Rollins challenged them to a fight. Sheamus came forward and accepted the challenge for a one-on-one match.The cruiserweight division had a six man tag team match where Akira Tozawa teamed up with Cedric Alexander and Rich Swann to face the team of TJP, Ariya Daivari and Tony Nese.

Tozawa picked up the victory for his team.

The Miz TV

The Miz along with wife Maryse, Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel welcomed Jason Jordan in the Miz TV. He insulted Jason's father and Raw General Manager Kurt Angle in front of Jordan which led to a fight between Jason and The Miz and Miztourage. This may start a rivalry between Jason and The Miz.

After this, Seth Rollins went one-on-one with Sheamus as a result of a challenge by Seth backstage. Seth picked up the victory but was attacked by Cesaro and Sheamus after the match. Dean came to rescue Seth but became a victim of a Sheamus and Cesaro two-on-one beatdown.

Next, the "Eater of Worlds" Bray Wyatt came to the ring asking the WWE universe about how they felt when he cost Finn Balor his match last week.

Bray was quickly interrupted and attacked by Finn who taught him a lesson by giving him a taste of his own medicine.

Roman vs Samoa vs Braun

In a great Triple Threat Match, Samoa Joe faced Roman Reigns and Braun Stroman. Roman Reigns emerged victorious gaining momentum for his Summerslam match.

Bayley, in a match against Nia Jax, was able to win the match via count out, as Alexa interfered in the match. In the main event, there was a match between the two seven footers in Big Show and Big Cass. The match ended in a disqualification as Enzo interfered in the match by attacking Big Cass. Cass got knocked out by Show who stood tall in the end.
