On Saturday afternoon, the Los Angeles Dodgers visited the Detroit Tigers. Recently acquired left fielder Curtis Granderson made his debut, and it was in a winning effort. Granderson was among those who scored during the 3-0 victory in Detroit. Here's the latest Dodgers vs. Tigers game recap with top performers, statistics, MLB standings news, and what's next for these two teams on the schedule.

L.A. vs. Detroit recap

Today's MLB game remained all tied up into the seventh-inning. That's when the Los Angeles Dodgers got a key single from Adrian Gonzalez which scored the newest team member, Curtis Granderson. In the next inning, Justin Turner hit a two-out RBI single. A home run from Yasmani Grandal in the ninth made it a 3-0 lead for the Dodgers.

Los Angeles managed to hold Detroit scoreless thanks to a combination of four different pitchers. Hyun Jin Ryu went five innings, getting four strikeouts and giving up three hits. Ross Stripling pitched two innings and also struck out four while allowing no hits.

Also pitching were Brandon Morrow and Kenley Jansen. Stripling picked up today's win to go to 3-4 for the season while Jansen earned his 33rd save of the season.

In scary news for Dodgers fans, star rookie Cody Bellinger seemed to roll his ankle in the sixth while making an out. The team brought in Yasiel Puig as a replacement hitter while Bellinger left the game with the injury. It's expected he'll be available tomorrow but won't start, according to managers Dave Roberts.

The Detroit Tigers had a good seven innings from Michael Fulmer who struck out six. Unfortunately, he gave up the RBI single to Gonzalez which broke the game open in the Dodgers' favor. The Tigers received four hits in the game scattered between Miguel Cabrera, Ian Kindler, Nicholas Castellanos, and Jacoby Jones.

Despite those hits, Detroit also left nine runners stranded on base, getting no runs in today's contest.
