The new season of the Barclays Premier League starts on August 12. Every top premier league team is getting prepared for the challenges they will be facing in the race to win the Barclays Premier League 2017-18 by remaining very engaged in the summer transfer window. Many teams have almost filled in their holes to chase the title and to face the Uefa Champions League tough teams.

Let's have a look at which teams are on the list of top contenders to win the Premier League title this season. Every team is getting prepared but the summer transfer window is still open and teams can still strengthen their depth to challenge the other horses in the race.

1. Manchester City

After a trophyless season for Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola, he is desperate to show why he is on the list of the best managers in the world. Pep Guardiola has been busy in the on going transfer window. He signed Bernardo Silva on the first day of the transfer market. It clearly showed what his intentions were for the forthcoming season.

So far, Manchester City has signed top class players like Danilo, Kyle Walker, Bernardo Silva and Ederson. Manchester City finished third last season in the Barclays Premier League with 78 points on the table and 23 wins out of 38 matches. This season they are better than last year and Manchester City can challenge any top team in English premier league with their current squad.

2. Chelsea

After winning the last Premier League season with 93 points on the table and with 30 wins out of 38 games, one can not drag them further down in the list of contenders for this season. Chelsea has also been involved in the transfer window and has signed Alvaro Morata, Willy Caballero and Tiemoue Bakayoko.

After all this, Chelsea boss Antonio Conte does not seem happy with his board's decisions to sell Nemanja Matic to Manchester United.

In a recent interview, he claimed that this transfer wasn't his choice. He also added that this particular transfer has twisted his special plans for newly signed Bakayoko. Still, after an impressive show in his first season, he is ready to take on yet another tough title challenge. This season is not going to be as easy as last season for Chelsea as there are more abled teams they have to face for the title this season.

3. Manchester United

Manchester United finished sixth last season with 69 points on the table while winning 18 games but still qualified for the UEFA Champions League by winning the Uefa Europa League. United was not so impressive in the Premier League last season and played 15 draws alone. But they showed an outstanding performance in the UEFA Europa League and won the title by defeating Ajax in the finals.

This season they are looking more prepared. United boss Jose so far has signed Romelo Lukaku, Victor Lindelof and Nemanja Matic. According to Jose's interview, he wants one or two more signings to be the perfect challengers for the forthcoming season. Manchester United still look vulnerable in the defensive area, and they have three defenders injured. Manchester United have to sort few things out as soon as possible to be the top contender for the season.
