The Connecticut Sun staged a second-half comeback in today's game. After trailing 58-43 at the half, the Sun went to work outscoring the Mystics 30-23 in the third quarter. They finished with a 23-11 fourth to take the game by four points.
Jonquel Jones led the way in today's game with a 7-for-12 shooting performance for 22 points while also grabbing nine rebounds. Her teammate Alyssa Thomas had 19 points, five assists, and five rebounds. All five Connecticut starters ended up with double-digits in points as Jasmine Thomas recorded 15 points, while Shekinna Stricklen and Courtney Williams had 12 apiece.
For the losing side, Elena Delle Donne led all scorers with 28 points in the game on 12-for-18 shooting. She also hit 2-of-3 shots from downtown, grabbed eight rebounds and dished out two assists. Her teammates Kristi Toliver and Emma Meesseman added a combined 33 points in the loss.
The visitors shot an impressive 51.4 percent for the game including a 56.3 percent rate from downtown. Connecticut hit at a rate of 49.4 percent from the field and just 25 percent from downtown. They were also outrebounded 35-30. However, the home team had just seven turnovers and the visitors 13 which helped lead to opportunities for the Sun to catch up.

With today's win, the Connecticut Sun have now moved to the top of the Eastern Conference standings with a record of 10-7.
They're now 9-2 over their last 11 games including a win over the league's best team, the Minnesota Lynx. They'll go for their fifth-straight win when they visit the Seattle Storm on July 12th at 3 p.m. Eastern Time.
With their third-straight loss, the Washington Mystics have dropped to second place in the Eastern Conference and have a record of 10-8 overall. They'll take on the Indiana Fever on July 14th on the road starting at 7 p.m. Eastern Time.
The two teams will break for the WNBA All-Star Game weekend as of Saturday, July 22nd with the game set to be played in Seattle. Delle Donne and Jones could be amongst the stars participating on the Eastern Conference team based on their seasons so far, along with fan votes.
