The Mystics will try to bounce back from a recent two-game skid, although both losses have come on the road. The Connecticut Sun come into today's game with a 9-7 record overall and a 3-3 record at home. The team has won their last three games over San Antonio, Indiana, and Seattle.
The last two wins came on the road, and the most recent was a 34-point drubbing of the San Antonio Stars. Connecticut was led by Alyssa Thomas with 13 points, eight boards, and seven steals.
Meanwhile, the Washington Mystics are trying to end their two-game slump as they fell to the Los Angeles Sparks, and more recently, the Phoenix Mercury. Both games were on the road. In Wednesday's 88-80 loss at Phoenix, Elena Delle Donne scored just 15, while teammate Ivory Latta added 13. The loss dropped them to 10-7, but they're still up near the top of the Eastern Conference standings.
A win for the Sun today would change the two team's spots in the overall standings, moving Connecticut to fourth overall and make them best in terms of record in the Eastern Conference.
The Odds Shark website lists tonight's spread at just three points in favor of the Sun. On the moneyline, various books feature Connecticut at -155, while the Mystics are +135 underdogs. The over/under points total is at 168 points for the complete game as of this report. The last time the two teams met was back on May 31st with Washington outlasting Connecticut at home, 78-76.
