With the offseason drawing near, teams continue to make moves in the hope of improving while rumors continue to surround upcoming free agents. Jimmy Butler is moving on to the Wolves, Chris Paul goes to Houston, and phil jackson got fired. It has been a pretty busy offseason and it has not even officially started yet. With the front office of NBA teams being busy as ever, let's look at moves and rumors swirling around in the NBA.

Nick Young to leave Los Angeles

The 32-year-old sharpshooter has decided to test his free agency worth this offseason by opting out of the deal with the Los Angeles Lakers.

Young a 10-year veteran in the NBA, averaged 13.2 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 1 assist per game last season while shooting 43% from the field and 40.4% from beyond the arc. Young is not as athletic as he used to be but he can still shoot that three ball, and with the league shifting to a more 3 and D style of play he could attract lots of teams this year.

New York Knicks interested in Griffin?

With James Dolan firing Phil Jackson a day ago, the New York Knicks are rushing to find a replacement as the NBA offseason is about to begin. They are reported to be meeting with two top candidates this week, Masai Ujiri and David Griffin. It is very unlikely that Ujiri will take the position since he just signed an extension with the Toronto Raptors.

Another very possible, and very likely, replacement is former General Manager of the Year, David Griffin. After separating with the Cleveland Cavaliers last week he is set to meet with the New York Knicks front office for an interview just before the offseason begins. We all know what an amazing job Griffin did in Cleveland and Knicks fan would probably want to see what he can do for the Knicks.

Afflalo and Hill get waived, maybe Rondo too?

The Sacramento Kings have reportedly waived 31-year-old shooting guard Aaron Afflalo. He averaged 8.4 points, 2.9 rebounds, 1.3 assists in 61 games with the Kings while shooting 44% from the field and 41.1% from beyond the arc. The Minnesota Timberwolves have also announced them waiving 8-year NBA veteran, big man Jordan Hill, he only played seven games with the Wolves.

KC Johnson of the Chicago Tribute reported that the Chicago Bulls have plans to waive former All-Star point guard Rajon Rondo if he cannot be traded before the start of the offseason, the Bulls wanted to keep Rondo but after the Butler trade it seems to be a better idea to save his salary and give Kriss Dunn some minutes next season
