Two of WWE's greatest stars John Cena and Brock Lesnar have not been on the show since the biggest event in 2017. Most of their fans have been eagerly waiting for one of these superstars to make an appearance. The last time Lesnar performed was for the WWE Universal Championship at WrestleMania 33. As for John Cena, he has not come back since WrestleMania 33 pay per view.
The good news is that both the superstars have confirmed their return to the show. Brock Lesnar will be back for the show on June 12, "Monday Night Raw." John Cena, on the other hand, will return only on July 4, for "SmackDown Live." Brock Lesnar defeated Goldberg at WrestleMania 33, and he has managed to retain the WWE Universal Championship.
Brock Lesnar has a new opponent for his title
Ever since Lesnar won the belt, he has not had a challenger for his title. For the first time, he will be facing the No. 1 contender to the WWE Universal Championship. "Samoa Joe" has fought his way through with a victory in the main event of Extreme Rules 2017. Being the No. 1 contender for the title, he will face Lensar on his return challenging him for the championship.
Lesnar will be fighting against Joe on July 9, at the Great Ball of Fire. There are rumors that he could have a fight when he returns to "Monday Night Raw," but the chances are very low. "Samoa Joe" is not anticipated to beat Lesnar, but other champions like Seth Rollins, Finn Balor, and Braun Strowman might challenge him for the championship before WrestleMania 34.
Who will John Cena fight?
John Cena has been out of WWE for a considerable while now, Cena did not even make an appearance for the episode of "SmackDown Live" after WrestleMania 33, neither has he appeared on WWE TV as per the International Business Times. There is no news as to who Cena will fight on his return, but rumors state that the only possible opponent will be Baron Corbin.
They might take on a match against each other, but the feud might not last long enough between Baron and Cena.
Even though Cena has been away from WWE, he laid his eyes on the WWE Championship. It might not be long before John Cena puts up a challenge with Jinder Mahal for the title. If the fight takes place between Cena and Mahal, it is believed it will happen at a big event.
Cena might have a match at "Battleground" on July 23, and if he remains with the show for a while, he will surely be in one of those top matches at SummerSlam. SummerSlam will take place on August 20, 2017.
