Game 1 preview

The defending champion Cleveland Cavaliers will be at Oracle Arena to start the latest postseason. This time around they'll be facing a Golden State team that has added the services of Kevin Durant during the offseason. The former Oklahoma City Thunder star is making his second trip to the NBA Finals and will attempt to win his first championship ring. He'll be backed by three other All-Stars who have been here before and won: Draymond Green, Klay Thompson, and Stephen Curry.

On the opposing side, the Cleveland Cavs return their championship core trio of James, Irving, and Love. In particular, Kyrie Irving has been playing out of this world lately, while Love has been having one of his best seasons in recent memory.

The Cavs added help to their bench in the form of Kyle Korver and Deron Williams, so they'll look to the key contributions of these new roster members to pitch in.

Both teams were nearly unstoppable in getting to the NBA Finals. The Warriors swept Portland, Utah, and San Antonio en route to a 12-0 record so far. The Cavaliers' only blemish was a loss to a pesky Boston Celtics team that rallied for a big win after their All-Star Isaiah Thomas was lost for the series.

With that said, Golden State will be the favorites in this series.

For Game 1, odds makers have the Warriors as 6.5-point favorites to win. On the money line, Golden State is a -310 favorite, while the Cavaliers are +260 underdogs. The over/under points total is 226 points for the game, so this could be a high-scoring affair.
