As of Thursday night, the Cleveland Cavaliers officially punched their tickets to the 2017 NBA Finals. LeBron James and the Cavs dominated the Celtics to win the Eastern Conference Finals. They'll now meet their opponent, the Golden State Warriors, for the third-straight season.
The two teams have won the past two NBA Championships, which has fans anticipating which squad will emerge as the 2017 champion. Will LeBron and the Cavs repeat, or will the Warriors now featuring Kevin Durant take back the crown?
Here's the latest on when the NBA Finals start as well as TV channel and live streaming info ahead of the series.
How they got here
The Golden State Warriors have looked unstoppable during the 2017 NBA Playoffs as they have cruised to a perfect 12-0 so far. They eliminated Damian Lillard and the Portland Trail Blazers in the first round 4-0 and then followed that up by eliminating the Utah Jazz in the second round 4-0.
At first, it appeared that San Antonio might give them some issues in the Western Conference Finals. However, an injury to superstar Kawhi Leonard in the first game of the series, ultimately allowed Golden State to come back and win Game 1 by two points. From there, with Leonard missing for the rest of the series, the Golden State Warriors won 4-0 to move to the NBA Finals.
The Cleveland Cavaliers appeared to also be unstoppable but hit a slight blip in the Eastern Conference Finals.
In the first round, LeBron and the Cavs dispatched of the Indiana Pacers in a sweep and then did the same thing to the Toronto Raptors.
Facing the No. 1 seed, the Boston Celtics, in the Eastern Conference Finals, the team grabbed two huge blowout wins in Boston. Isaiah Thomas went down for the Celtics and had to miss Game 3, but Boston's other players stepped up to grab a huge upset win in Cleveland.
The Cavs bounced back from the loss to win the final two games of the series. On Thursday night, they punched their ticket to the NBA Finals with a dominating 135-102 win.
