LaVar Ball has been in the media recently for many controversial comments about NBA legends, NBA players, and NBA players' kids. The Ball father has shown his tremendous confidence he has for his three boys, Lonzo, LaMelo, and LiAngelo. But some would make the argument; his comments have gone too far. Recently, LaVar Ball had a statement for LeBron James and his kids. LaVar Ball said that he believes his son, UCLA star Lonzo Ball is better than any player in the NBA, including LeBron James. Also suggested that NBA legends have kids that receive a high expectation from fans, but never live up to it.
LaVar talked about what the critics will say about LeBron's sons, stating:
"They're gonna be like aw, you're soft, you're not that good. Because the expectation is very high." LaVar suggested in his statement that LeBron's kids won't be successful and may struggle against top-notch NBA opponents if they make the big league.
LeBron James responds
LeBron James has just fired back with a strong statement to the Ball father, saying: "Keep my kids' name out of your mouth, keep my family out of your mouth." making sure LaVar knows this has nothing to do with his kids or LeBron's kids. This a one-on-one conversation is between LeBron and LaVar. LeBron added:
"This is dad to dad. It's a problem now... He can talk about his brand, talk about his sons, speak of basketball, talk about me.
But keep my family out of this." This is a very strong statement from the three-time NBA champion, someone LaVar Ball would be smart not to mess with. Especially because Lonzo Ball will soon be in league with a player named, LeBron James.
Lonzo Ball in trouble?
All this trash talk from LaVar Ball could have an adverse impact in Lonzo Ball's NBA career.
He'll only be in his rookie year next season, but the NBA and especially the players LaVar has talked badly of will come at Lonzo Ball and show no mercy. LeBron James might take his thoughts on these comments out on the floor when he plays Lonzo, although like LeBron said, it's a dad to dad battle.
