The Los Angeles Lakers are willing to ink a two-year deal with David Nwaba, reports Shams Charania of The Vertical. Nwaba was given two consecutive 10-day contracts by the Lakers, and the last one expired this week. L.A. had to decide what to do with Nwaba, and ultimately decided to keep the 24-year-old. However, the second year of the deal is a team option, so it's not guaranteed that Nwaba will stay on the team until his contract expires.

Nwaba coming off a memorable experience
The Los Angeles Lakers faced the Cleveland Cavaliers on Sunday at Staples Center.
The L.A. team just fell short to the 2016 NBA champions -- Cleveland defeated the Lakers with a 125-120 win. David Nwaba had a chance to share the same court with a couple of stars in this league, and it was a valuable experience. He scored seven points and grabbed five rebounds in 22 minutes played against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Sunday. The 24-year-old guarded superstars LeBron James and Kyrie Irving at various points during the game.
''It's an amazing opportunity, you know, to play against the best in the world,'' Nwaba told reporters after the match. ''But, you know, they took advantage of (us) switching on the picks. But, you know, they have a lot of shooters also -- so, you can't help too much.
They're a great group of guys.''
D'Angelo Russell's performance recognized by Nwaba
Los Angeles Lakers guard D'Angelo Russell had a great outting on Sunday at Staples Center. He achieved his career-high of 40 points and had six assists as well. David Nwaba praised the guard after that performance, and said he hopes that he will continue to play well for the rest of the season.
''Yeah. You know, (D'Angelo Russell was) agressive'' Nwaba told reporters post-game. ''You know, just looking for his shots on the court. And, you know, taking the right ones. And also looking for his teammates on breaks, and you know, he was just playing his game. You know, he had a great game, hopefully the rest of the season he finishes off strong.''
